Review Raj Indian Restaurant - "Very good value"
We ate here on a "quiet" night, but, this in no way spoilt our enjoyment,
We were quickly served with poppadums and a relish tray whilst we chose our meal. Very tasty.
I had fish pakora for a starter and found varied pieces of white fish in a delicious soft spicy batter.
For our mains we all chose a different chicken dish and no fault could be found. Between the 3 of us we shared one rice dish and one naan bread and we could not finish it all. That gives you an idea of how generous the chicken dishes were.
The service was excellent, in no way obtrusive.

“Looking forward to August”
My husband and I stayed here in 2009 and 2010 and the perfect location of this hotel and the great facilities has stayed in our minds.
The beach is second to none and a stroll into resort in the evening rounds off a perfect day.
Having read continuing positive reviews we have decided a return trip in August is a must this year. (No better way to celebrate a 50th birthday in my mind). Counting the days.
Room Tip: High floors for views out to sea. See the fishermen' lights on the horizon at night.

The Great Christmas and New Year Challenge - 10th Year
Once again we will be "swimming for shoes" during the festive season.Diary dates - two opportunities to SWIM FOR SHOES where you can have a dip in the Atlantic Ocean and help to raise money for children here who are in need of new shoes.
These will be on Christmas Day and New Years Day at 11.00 a.m. on the beach at Armação de Pêra in front of the Holiday Inn Algarve (formerly the Hotel Garbe).
All you need to do is turn up with swimwear, towel and go in for a full swim or just a paddle – the choice is yours as long as part of you gets wet ! Then everyone who takes part can recover in the Holiday Inn Bar and enjoy a Hot Bomba on Christmas Day and hot chocolate on New Years Day.
Buying shoes for the children who are in care is an ongoing expense and we want to help as many as possible start 2014 with a new pair of shoes
Adults and children are all welcome to take part on the understanding that you do so at your own risk. If you have family and friends staying over the festive season it will certainly be something different to do!

We really appreciate it when our guests take the time to review their holidays, this one is from Expedia:-“Great hotel. Best we have stayed in in Algarve.”
We found the hotel to be well sited in an area that at this time of year was quiet. Restaurants, cafes and shops open but not the crowds. The hotel was situated right next to the beach.
Our room looked out over the sea and beach. We opted for an executive room which I would recommend you do. It was modern, large and had a double aspect view.
The staff at the hotel were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good but we didn't eat there in the evening as we had opted to eat locally for this week. There was a wide range of places to eat within walking distance. Although the evening menu at the hotel looked good. We did eat in the bar when we arrived late evening and this was good. Bar prices were cheap for a hotel we thought ,especially if you aimed to be there at happy hour.
Rooms had a kettle and there were plenty of teabags etc replaced daily. The hotel was run very efficiently and the reception staff helpful. We opted not to hire a car. There was a bus stop next to the hotel as was the taxi rank..
The hotel is great for walking along the beach to the left or right along the beach and then up onto the cliffs were you can walk all day. We opted to walk on one day for about 6 hour have a late lunch and taxi back. We have stayed at 4 other 5 and 4 star hotels in the Algarve and this was by far the most enjoyable stay. We left relaxed and refreshed.. We will be back next year.

“Lovely Indian food”

"Fully deserves its recent Trip Advisor Award"
One of the first big Hotels in the Algarve, I think it was built in 60´s ,so its position is second to none in Armacao, right on the beach, but they are up to date with service, facilities, rooms etc with a BIG PLUS. As other have said the Public areas , restaurant ,bedrooms had had a serious well thought renovation , the main bar has a view unequalled sea views .The hotel is surrounded by small shops , mini supermarkets & great restaurant s , spoilt for choice , ,. The Hotel has a separate India restaurant called the Raj ,and the food in the main restaurant is very acceptable , the breakfast is particular good , wide choice , quality food . Bedrooms are furnished to a high standards , balcony are little small by modern standards , but adequate .

My husband and I had a most memorable holiday at the holiday inn in the Algarve last year we escaped the cold weather in the uk and returned home rejuvenated but slightly overweight due to the lovely meals provided for us.
All the staff were friendly and helpful and we have decided to return next year Once again we have booked through Saga and hope to return to our previous room 401 or similar on the topfloor -we so enjoyed the magnificent views
